The Republic of Uzbekistan has introduced fines for illegal collection, storage, transfer and a number of other activities with personal data.
The first offense by the state will carry a fine of 3 to 5 MCIs for citizens and 5 to 10 MCIs for authorized persons. For those previously prosecuted under this article, a fine of up to 50 MCIs will be imposed.
To avoid criminal liability, the defendant must plead guilty and "settle" with the victim.
The law will come into force from 01.10.2019.
